Mixed Bunch Thank You Card

I really like how today's card turned out. I CASEd it from Lynn at LW Designs. I love the color combo that she came up with on this card. I would have never thought to put Cherry Cobbler with Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, & Peach Parfait. Actually, she used Pear Pizzazz instead of Lucky Limeade, but I wanted the green that was used in the designer paper. I also didn't use as much designer paper as she did, made the leaves with the Blossom Punch (p. 17 in the Occasions Mini) instead of the Blossoms Builder Punch, and added the Framed Tulip Impressions Folder (p. 218) to the peach layer.

The flower comes from the Mixed Bunch set (p. 17 in the Mini), and the greeting is from my go-to set, Sincere Salutations (p. 160). I inked the flower first with Peach Parfait ink, and then used the "Rock 'N Roll" technique by rolling the edges of the stamp into Cherry Cobbler ink. I stamped the flower again on Lucky Limeade card stock in Lucky Limeade ink. I then cut two of the flower petals off to make the leaves. The flower is popped up with dimensionals (the leaves are not).

The designer paper is Everyday Enchantment DSP (p. 7 in the SAB brochure). You can get this designer paper free with a $50 order during Sale-A-Bration (SAB), which ends March 31. Other items I used that you can get free during SAB are the brad from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack (p. 7 in SAB brochure), and the Designer Frames Impressions Folders (p. 13 in the SAB brochure & p. 215 in the big catty). The saying was punched out with the XL Oval Punch (p. 212). I sponged the edges of the oval with Peach Parfait ink before attaching it into the frame. Some Mojo Romance

In case you've been wondering, yes, I'm still alive! lol I've really missed posting, and I'm glad to be able to do it again. I'm starting off by doing this week's beautiful Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO231). The sketch is pictured on the right. The card that I created with this sketch is below.

The flower image is from the Bordering on Romance set (p. 11 in the Occasions Mini). The saying is from the Kindness Matters set (p. 13 in the SAB brochure and p. 121 in the big catty), and you can get this set free with a $50 order (before shipping & tax) during Sale-A-Bration (SAB). The designer paper is called Twitterpated DSP (p. 13 in the Occasions Mini), and the coordinating ribbon is Riding Hood Red 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon (p. 12 in mini). The doily circle was made with the Paper Doily Large Sizzlits Die (p. 7) from the Occasions Mini as well. I used a few items from the big catalog, too. I used an Antique Brad (p. 198) on the tag, Basic Pearls Jewels (p. 198) on the DSP strip and on the flowers, the 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch (p. 212), and the Finial Press Impressions Folder (p. 219). I made the flag end of the DSP strip with the 1-3/8" Square Punch (p. 212).

How do you like the watercoloring? It's a new technique that I learned, and it's called Marker Layering Technique. There's a step-by-step tutorial and video tutorial of this technique that Karen Barber made on SCS, and you can find it HERE. I love this technique. It really makes me look like I know how to watercolor! lol I'll be using this technique a lot, I'm sure!

My First Heaven Blessed Card

Hello, fellow stampers! I hope you're all having a wonderful week. Today's card is going to be one of the cards that will be made at my Hello, Spring! Stamp Camp next month (March 27). I just got this cute set a week or so ago, and this is the first time I've had a chance to use it. The set is in the Occasions Mini, and it's called Heaven Blessed (p. 20) The images in this set are so cute. The little boy and the bunny are two separate stamps. You can stamp a different scene with this little boy, and the girl that is also in the set. There is also a stamp with another bunny laying down, a stamp with little baby chicks, and 2 greeting stamps. The "Happy Easter" I used on the card is one of the greetings. The other Occasions Mini item I used was the designer paper called Twitterpated DSP (p. 13).

The white circle was die-cut with the 3" Originals Die (p. 220), and the scallop circle frame was die-cut with the Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die (p. 222). I embossed the top of the Baja Breeze card stock with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder (p. 219). The border was made from two strips of card stock (Riding Hood Red & Pear Pizzazz) punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch (p. 211).

Here's how I made the border. I started with a 4" x 1" strip of Riding Hood Red card stock, and punched one long edge with the Scallop Edge Punch. I punched a 1" wide strip of Pear Pizzazz card stock that was a little longer than the red strip (around 4-1/2" long). I then lined the scallops in between the red scallops and attached the strips together. I then trimmed the Pear Pizzazz strip so it was the same length as the Riding Hood Red one. I then attached them both to the bottom of the 4" x 2" Twitterpated DSP strip.

The bow was made with a 9" strip of Pear Pizzazz 1/2" Seam Binding (p. 195). I made the strip into a loop, squeezed the loop together, and put the center into a 2011-2013 In Color Printed Designer Brad (p. 199). I then punched a hole into the Baja Breeze layer, and inserted the brad. I learned how to make a "Faux Bow" on Dawn Olchefske's blog. She has made a great video tutorial, and you can see it HERE. I then added everything to the Pear Pizzazz card.

Happiest Birthday Card

It's Friday! Today's card is the card my technique stamp camp will be making next week. They're learning the "Misting with Markers" technique. I CASEd this card from a card that Brandy Cox made on SCS. You can see her card, HERE.

As a lot of you already know, I love this stamp set and designer paper, and how they coordinate with each other. For those of you that don't know, both items are Sale-A-Bration (SAB) items. The only way you can get them is by placing a $50 order (before shipping & tax), or by hosting a qualifying workshop by March 31. The stamp set is called Fresh Vintage (p. 6 in the SAB brochure) & the paper is Everyday Enchantment DSP (p. 7 in the SAB brochure). I really love the different looks to this paper. Even though there is a variety, they still go together! I just love that!

There are also two items that I used from the Occasions Mini. The pearls are from the Large Pearl Basic Jewels Pack (p. 26), and the greeting is from the beautiful Apothecary Art set (p. 24). I just got this stamp set Tuesday, and I'm really looking forward to using it some more. I wasn't going to get it at first, but I've seen so many beautiful cards made with it that I couldn't resist it any longer!

Masculine Valentine Card

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you've been having a wonderful day. Today's card is the one I've made for my hubby for Valentine's Day. I wanted it to be a masculine card, so I stayed away from any pink & pastel colors. I also used the great Mojo Monday sketch for this week (MOJO228).

The Crumb Cake square was made with the Top Note Bigz Die (p. 222). I've seen a lot of people make it like this, but this is the first time I've tried it. It's really easy. After running the Crumb Cake card stock through the Big Shot with the Top Note die, I rotated the piece 90 degrees, centered it over the Top Note, I ran it through again. It looks like I used a whole new die! I then ran the piece through the Big Shot again with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder (p. 218) to get some texture.

I made the hearts with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies (p. 7 in the Occasions Mini). After I cut them out, I ran the Cherry Cobbler heart through the Big Shot again with the Finial Press Impressions Folder (p. 219). I then stamped the "love you" to the More Mustard heart with Cherry Cobbler ink. I ran the Soft Suede piece through the Big Shot with the Heart Pressed Letterpress Plate (p. 217). It's hard to see it in the big picture of the card, but you can see it in the small close-up picture below on the right. I didn't use any ink on the plate, because I only wanted a subtle image of the hearts on the card.

I attached the Crumb Cake square to the Soft Suede piece, then the Early Espresso strip, and then the greeting piece. The stamp set that I used was P.S. I Love You (p. 8 in the Occasions Mini). I then wrapped the Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine (p. 194) around the piece three times, and then tied the bow. I then attached a Metallic Brad (p. 199) to each corner of the Crumb Cake square, and then attached it all to the card. I attached the More Mustard heart to the Cherry Cobbler one, and then attached them both to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206).

I just finished making the rest of the cards for my upcoming Let's Sale-A-Brate! Stamp Camp next Thursday. If you would like to learn more about this event, please go to my EVENTS CALENDAR.

The card below is one of the cards being made, and it showcases the Outlined Occasions Sale-A-Bration (SAB) set (p. 10 in the SAB brochure). I also used a few items from the current Occasions Mini. The designer paper is called Sweet Shop Specialty DSP (p. 33). I also used the Labels Collection Framelits dies (p. 6) for the white greeting piece. I colored the letters in with Stampin' Write Markers.

The rest of the items I used are from the big catalog. I made the candle with the Word Window Punch (p. 209). After punching it out, I snipped off one of the curved ends to make the top of the candle. The "flame" was made with the smallest petal in the Blossom Petals Builder Punch (p. 213). The border along the right side of the DSP was made with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch (p. 211). The pink "frosting" on the cake was made with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die (p. 221).

Fresh Vintage Valentine Card

Happy Friday, everyone! Are you ready for some football? We are here in Indiana! It's so neat to know that the Super Bowl is less than a 30 minute drive away! I think Indianapolis has done a great job hosting this year. So proud! Go Giants!

I CASEd today's card from one I saw on SCS made by Diane Vander Galien. I did change mine a little bit, but not a lot. I used a different Impressions Folder, used a different greeting, made the greeting a different shape, used both SAB ribbons, put "bow" in a different place, and added Pool Party card stock under the Pool Party colored DSP layer. I also punched a border across the bottom of the added card stock with the Scallop Trim Border Punch (p. 211).

I used the 3 items that come in the bundle that hostesses receive for free when their workshop comes to $400 (before shipping & tax) during Sale-A-Bration. The bundle items are the Fresh Vintage stamp set (p. 6 in SAB catty), Everyday Enchantment DSP (p. 7 in SAB catty), and Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack (p. 7 in SAB catty). If you would like to earn all three SAB items free, you can either place a $150 order (before shipping & tax), or host a qualifying workshop. The greeting comes from the P.S. I Love You set (p. 8 in Occasions Mini). The heart was made using the new Hearts Collection Framelits Dies (p. 6 in Occasions Mini). I stamped the floral image before I cut out the heart with the framelit, and then I sponged it with Soft Suede ink. I also sponged the greeting piece with Soft Suede ink. The heart and greeting are attached to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206).

The bow is actually 8 small ribbon pieces (4 in each color of SAB ribbon) put in between the SAB brad prongs, and then inserted into the card stock. Each ribbon strip is about 2" long.

Sale-A-Bration Set - Elementary Elegance

Here is a card that uses one of the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) sets you can get free with a $50 order (before shipping & tax) this month and March. I love the frame and the font used on the greeting. So pretty. I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for this one (MOJO226). It's the last sketch of the month, and they always give a choice of making a circle or a square card. I opted for a square one.

The SAB set is called Elementary Elegance (p. 15 in SAB catty). The color combo matches the colors in the designer paper I used, Well Worn DSP (p. 185). The greeting was stamped on Naturals Ivory CS in Early Espresso ink. I then punched it out with the Curly Label Punch (p. 209), and sponged the piece with Soft Suede ink. I then attached it to the center of the ornate frame with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206). I love how the Curly Label Punch coordinates perfectly with this stamp set. I made the border across the middle with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch (p. 211), and then put the larger pearls from the Basic Pearls Jewels pack (p. 198) across the middle. The butterfly was made with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die (p. 216). I also cut 4 of the pearls off of one of the strips in the Basic Pearls Jewels pack and put it on the butterfly for its body. I then attached the right wing of the butterfly to the card, and folded it to raise the left wing to make it look like the butterfly is flying.

It's Friday! I've been busy working on the projects that will be made at my upcoming XOXO Sweetheart Stamp Camp. Here is one of the projects that will be made. I just recently got the Petal Cone Bigz L Die (p. 221), and I'm so glad I have it! There are so many things that you can do with this wonderful die! The Petal Cone it makes is pretty enough, but some very creative people out there have come up with a lot more you can make with it.

Three Little Words...

Happy Monday, everyone! It's Monday, so that means there's a new Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO225). This card is a super easy one, and I'll be demonstrating it at a workshop I'm having in less than 2 weeks. I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to make it a portrait card. I got the color combo from a card I saw in the current Idea Book & Catalog on p. 167. All of the hearts come from the I {Heart} Hearts set (p. 46), and the greeting comes from the Three Little Words set (p. 166).

The vanilla squares were punched out with the 1-3/8" Square Punch (p. 212), and I cut out the 1-1/2" Rose Red squares with my Paper Cutter (p. 208). I cut out the Old Olive heart in the top left square and the Perfect Plum heart in the bottom right square with my Paper Snips (p. 208). The Rose Red polka dot heart was stamped, and then punched out with the 1-3/8" Square Punch. The little Rose Red "Love" heart was punched out with the Small Heart Punch (p. 210). The Rich Razzleberry "Love" heart and the two hearts with the greeting came from the same stamp in the I {Heart} Hearts set. I inked the hearts with Rich Razzleberry, Rose Red, & Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers, and then punched them out with the Heart to Heart Punch (p. 210). The two small hearts were popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206). "Three Little Words" was inked up with Rich Razzleberry & Rose Red Stampin' Write Markers, and the "i love you" was stamped with Old Olive ink. The greeting piece was stamped onto a 3" x 1" piece of Very Vanilla card stock, and the Rose Red mat is 3-1/8" x 1-1/8". I embossed the 4" x 5-1/4" Perfect Plum card stock with the Framed Tulips Impressions Folder (p. 218), and then attached to the Old Olive card base. I then added the other pieces inside the tulip frame.

Happy Thursday, everyone! Only one more work day! I'm lucky enough to have my weekend starting now. I'm getting ready to scrapbook and make cards with some very good friends this afternoon through Saturday afternoon. It's an annual 48 Hour Stampin' & Scrappin Retreat that my church has every year. It's so much fun. I can't wait to leave in about an hour!

Today's card is my first Stacked Card. It's also called a Telescoping Card. I learned how to make one on Joan Ervin's Blog. The main stamp set I used is P.S. I Love You (p. 8), and it's in the Occasions Mini. The "Love" on the small heart layer is from an upcoming Sale-A-Bration set, Outlined Occasions. Today's card uses this week's Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO224). I made this card yesterday when it was pretty dreary outside. I needed to use some Spring colors to brighten things up! The stamp set I used is from the Occasions Mini, and it's called Bordering on Romance (p. 11). I used a new technique called Cross the Border, and you can see it on the flower piece. My technique stamp club will be learning this technique and making this card next week. I used two new dies that are in the Occasions Mini as well. The Pear Pizzazz border was made with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies (p. 7). I love how the flower border stamp in this stamp set matches up perfectly with this die. The flower piece and the frame around it were cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits dies (p. 6). I attached the frame onto the flower piece with SNAIL Adhesive (p. 206 in big catty), and then attached the whole thing to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206 in big catty). If you can believe it, there are two more Occasions Mini items! I told you this mini had a lot of wonderful things in it! The ribbon is the new Baja Breeze 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon (p. 12), and the pearl is from the Large Pearl Basic Jewels pack (p. 26).

I also used two Impressions Folders on this card that are in the big catalog. I used the Square Lattice Impressions Folder (p. 218) on the Baja Breeze strip, and I used the Finial Press Impressions Folder (p. 219) on the Wisteria Wonder piece. I really like adding texture to my projects to make them extra special. I made the flag bottom on the Baja Breeze strip with a corner of the 1-1/4" Square Punch (p. 212). The saying comes from the Petite Pairs set (p. 164), and was punched out with the Decorative Label Punch (p. 209). Do you want to know how I made it so small with such a large punch? Patty Bennett has great video tutorial on how to do it, and you can find it HERE. I made the little crochet accent with a 3" piece of Victoria 5/8" Crochet Trim (p. 194). I folded it in half to form a "V", attached it with a little SNAIL Adhesive to the right of the flower piece's frame, trimmed the ends, and then added the Large pearl.

Another Fresh Vintage Card

Happy Friday, everyone! I have another Fresh Vintage Sale-A-Bration (SAB) card to show you. I participated in two Splitcoaststampers (SCS) challenges with this card. The color combo challenge (CC357) and the card sketch challenge (SC367). Besides using an upcoming Sale-A-Bration set, I also used some new Occasions Mini items. I used Twitterpated DSP (p. 13), Baja Breeze 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon (p. 12), Twitterpated Designer Buttons (p. 12), Large Pearl Basic Jewels (p. 26), & Adorning Accents Impressions Embossing Folders (p. 7).

I made the flower with the Boho Blossoms Punch (p. 210). I punched the three flowers in the punch out of Blushing Bride card stock. I then roughed the card stock up and curled the edges up on each flower. I then sponged each one with Riding Hood Red Classic ink. I layered each one together and attached each layer with a Mini Glue Dot (p. 206). I then punched out the largest flower in the punch out of Riding Hood Red card stock. I roughed it up, too, and then added it to the bottom of the pink flower. I then attached one of the Large pearls in the new Large Pearls Basic Jewels pack to the center of the flower.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but I did sponge around the stamped floral image with Blushing Bride ink. I also added small pearls from the Basic Pearls Jewels (p. 198) to the stamped floral image as well. The greeting came from the Fundamental Phrases set (p. 163). The heart border on the Baja Breeze card stock strip was made with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch (p. 210).

Occasions Mini Set - Mouthwatering

Today's card is a simple and quick one to make. I used the new stamp set, Mouthwatering (p. 34) in the Occasions Mini. I also used two other Occasions Mini items...Sweet Shop Specialty DSP (p. 33) and Cherry Scented Emboss Powder (p. 35). It was fun to make the cherries smell like cherries. I made this card a couple weeks ago for a swap I was in, and it still smells like cherries! I like the shiny effect the emboss powder gives the cherries, too. The greeting I used was Petite Pairs (p. 164 in big catty). I just got this set a few weeks ago, and I've already used it a lot!

How did I emboss the cherries when there isn't a Calypso Coral Craft Pad or emboss powder? I first inked up the cherries with Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral markers, and then stamped it onto Whisper White card stock. I then brushed the VersaMarker (p. 203 in big catty) completely over the two cherries. Then, I added the Cherry Scented EP and heat embossed it. I wouldn't have done this if the stamp had been more intricate, but the cherries are big and easy to cover. The other stamps in the set, the ice cream cone, watermelon slice, and popsicle, are easy to do, too. The other two scented emboss powders are Vanilla & Melon...perfect for the other stamps. The cherry circle layer was made with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch (p. 212 in big catty), and the Wisteria Wonder circle was made with the Circle Scissors Plus (p. 208) and measures 2-3/4".

Happy Monday, everyone! We're having beautiful weather today in Central Indiana! Right now, it's 50 degrees and sunny. This sure isn't normal for January, but I'll take it!

Today's picture uses the new Mojo Monday sketch that came out this morning (MOJO223). It's another wonderful sketch. The stamp set, designer paper, ribbon, and brads that I used are a few of the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) items that will be available beginning January 24. SAB is the biggest annual sale that Stampin' Up! has, and everyone loves it. You earn a SAB item from the brochure for free with every $50 (before shipping & tax) you spend on an order.

I've been dying to use some of my new SAB stuff, and this sketch worked out perfect for this set. It's called Fresh Vintage, and I just love it! It's my favorite SAB set of the ones being offered. It's hard to see it in the picture, but the stamped border along the bottom part of the card is also from this stamp set. The big Very Vanilla circle was cut out with my Circle Scissors Plus (p. 208 in the big catty). It's a 2-3/4" circle, and I bordered it with a Peach Parfait circle that was cut with my 3" Circle Originals Die (p. 220 in the big catty). Of course, I could have made the peach circle with my Circle Scissor Plus, too. The small circle was popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206 in the big catty).

I'm also very much in love with the SAB designer paper. It's so pretty and the color combo is gorgeous! It's called Everyday Enchantment DSP. The ribbon and brads come in a pack together, and it's called Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack. As you can see, the ribbon and brads coordinate with the designer paper. They really look great together, as you can see.

I did use a new Occasions Mini item, too. It's called Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies (p. 7) in the Occasions Mini), and it made the Pool Party scallop edge on the card. I've used the other edgelit die that comes in the set before, but this is the other one. I really like the ridges on the scallop edge. The greeting came from the Petite Pairs set (p. 164 in the big catty).

New Set - Bordering on Romance

Introducing another new set in the Occasions Mini, Bordering on Romance (p. 11). I CASEd this card from a lady off of SCS. I don't know her name, but her SCS name is inkpad. You can find her card HERE. I stamped the flowers with Basic Gray ink, and watercolored it with the ink colors listed below. I punched out the image with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch (p. 212 in big catty). The ornate border was made with the new Paper Doily Large Sizzlits Die (p. 7) in the Occasions Mini. I really think this doily is pretty. The greeting comes from the Petite Pairs stamp set (p. 164 in the big catty), and it was stamped with Soft Suede ink. This card is quick and easy to make, and it's also very pretty!

First Valentine's Day Card of the Year

A new card two days in a row...I'm on a roll! I'm really glad to finally be able to get back into the swing of things. Today's card is my first Valentine's Day card of 2012. I also followed the first Mojo Monday sketch of 2012, too. It's MOJO222. I think it's a great sketch.

I got to use some new Occasions Mini items on this card, as well. I had a hard time getting the picture to show the true colors I used, and this was the best I could do. I think the card looks better in real life.

The first Occasions Mini item I used is the P.S. I Love You stamp set (p. 8). It's a set of 15 stamps, so there are a lot of different looks you can get with it. It's a little hard to tell in the picture, but the chocolate on the strawberry is shiny. I put Crystal Effects on top of the "chocolate". I really like the look. The heart was punched out with the Full Heart Punch (p. 210 in big catty). The cupid and chocolate strawberry were cut out free-hand. I also popped the chocolate-covered strawberry up with a Stampin' Dimensional (p. 206 in big catty).

The designer paper I used is the same as the card I made yesterday...Twitterpated DSP (p. 13). I used the Adorning Accents Impressions Embossing Folders (p. 7) to make the Riding Hood Red hearts strip. The last Occasions Mini items I used are the buttons on the card...Twitterpated Designer Buttons (p. 12). I attached them to the card with Mini Glue Dots (p. 206 in big catty).

It's here! I don't know how Stampin' Up! does it, but they've outdone themselves again! Each mini that comes out seems to get better and better. I'm in love with just about everything! Catalogs" Page. Now see what I did with some of the goodies!

This is the first card that I've made using some of my new Occasions Mini stuff. The new stamp set is called Mixed Bunch (p. 17). Yes, it also has a coordinating punch called Blossom Punch (p. 17). I just love that! Just think of all of the possibilities with this stamp set & punch together! I stamped the flower onto Baja Breeze card stock with Island Indigo ink. I then sponged the edges of the flower with the same ink. The flower layer underneath was stamped with another flower image in the set and Blushing Bride ink on Whisper White card stock.

Do you see any more new stuff on it? I actually used quite a few. I just love the new pleated ribbon. I used the Riding Hood Red 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon (p. 12). The beautiful designer paper is called Twitterpated (p. 13). Now, for one of my favorite new items...the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies (p. 7) and the coordinating Adorning Accents Impressions Embossing Folders (p. 7). I used the Edgelits Die on the bottom border of the DSP and used the Impressions Folder on the Pear Pizzazz layer underneath. Both items really add a lot to this card. I Love Them!

MOJO 216

Boy, has it been a long time since I've posted a project! I'm sorry about that, but things have been busy around here again. I thought I'd get back into it by participating in the MOJO216 sketch that came out Monday.

The stamp set I used is called Snow Swirled (p. 38). If you look at the close-up picture below, you can see that the snowflakes are shiny. I embossed the images with Wild Wasabi and Cherry Cobbler emboss powders (p. 201). I also put a Basic Rhinestone Jewel (p. 198) in the middle of each one. The card is very shimmery in person. It's also hard to tell in the picture, but the greeting banner is raised in the middle to make it look like a flag rippling in the breeze. The Wild Wasabi strip on the left was embossed with the Petals-A-Plenty Impressions Folder (p. 219). The beautiful designer paper is in the Holiday Mini, and it's called Holly Berry Bouquet DSP (p. 20).

Dasher is Back!

What a week! I was wanting to post earlier this week, but just wasn't able to. I'm so glad it's Friday again! I used this week's card sketch on SCS as inspiration for this card, SC354.

Today's card features my favorite reindeer, Dasher (p. 19). The greeting stamp is from the Christmas Greetings set (p. 41). This is the first card that I've made with the beautiful Christmas paper, Holly Berry Bouquet DSP (p. 20 in the Holiday Mini). The right border of the Red/Green strip was made with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (p. 211).

Notice how I made some of Dasher's antlers red? I first inked up the whole stamp with Chocolate Chip ink. I then removed the ink on the parts I wanted red with a blender pen. Then, I inked up these parts with a Real Red marker. It's much faster and easier than inking up the whole stamp with markers. I also sponged around Dasher with Crumb Cake ink.

Happy Friday everyone! We've been having beautiful weather here in Indiana the past few days, and it's supposed to continue through the weekend and beyond. Sunshine and highs in the low 80's. I'm not used to temps like that in October, but I'll take it.

It may be warm outside, but I've been working on some Christmas cards. Below is the first card I've made with The Sounding Joy set (p. 23 in the Holiday Mini). I also used some other fun goodies from the Holiday Mini. I embossed the Marina Blue strip with the Snow Burst Impressions Folder (p. 33), used Pewter Emboss Powder (p. 31) to heat emboss the main image, made the holly with the Stocking Accents Originals Die (p. 24), and made the leaf veins with Dazzling Details (p. 41). I also used the Red Glimmer Paper (p. 41 in Holiday Mini & p. 181 in the big catty) for the holly berries. Oh, I almost forgot! I also used ribbon from the Holiday Mini called Early Espresso 3/8" Quilted Satin Ribbon (p. 30).

I used the very cute Christmas paper, Letters to Santa DSP (p. 186). I put a 4" x 1-1/2" strip of this paper onto the bottom of the Top Note Bigz Die (p. 222) and ran it through. I also ran a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" pieces of Old Olive and Naturals White card stock through with the same die. I trimmed the white one down, cutting along the perforrated part of the die-cut. I stamped and embossed it first, and then attached it to the Old Olive die-cut. I then attached the DSP die-cut strip, added the ribbon, and then added the holly die-cuts. The whole thing was added on top of the blue/brown strip using 4 Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206).

My Son's Birthday Card

Last week my youngest child turned 16 years old! Boy, that makes me feel old! Today's card is the card I made him for his birthday. I CASEd it from THIS CARD. As you can see, I did make a few changes.

This stamp set, The Open Sea, was in the Summer Mini. I have great news and bad news. This wonderful set is still available to order! The designer paper, sadly, is not. I sponged the blue DSP with Early Espresso ink after tearing it. I also crinkled up the compass and the journal layer. I sponged the compass with Early Espresso ink. After tearing the journal layer, I sponged it with Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy, and Cherry Cobbler ink.

I inked the ship stamp with Cherry Cobber & Not Quite Navy Stampin' Write Markers. After stamping it, I brushed a Blender Pen (p. 203) over the stamped image to spread some of the ink over the open spaces in the image. This gave a red tint to the sails, and gave the water different shades of blue. I then sponged it with Early Espresso ink, and layered onto Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler card stock.

I also wanted a vintage look to the Cherry Cobbler/White Baker's Twine (p. 194), so I sponged it with Early Espresso ink after attaching it to the card. The greeting stamp comes from the hostess set, Happiest Birthday Wishes (p. 10). I stamped it on DSP with Early Espresso ink, and punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch (p. 209). I then attached it to the bottom of the ship piece. The ship and compass pieces were attached with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206).

I learned how to make this cute little box on Angie Juda's site. It's made using the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die (p. 223). I learned how to make the turkey punch art from an old Stampin' Success magazine (Oct., 2008). For those of you that don't know, this is the magazine that all SU! demonstrators get every month for free. I love getting these magazines. There are so many great ideas in them!

Another Field Flowers Card

Here is the card that I promised you yesterday. Yesterday's card centered on blues which is my 18 year old daughter's favorite color. Today's card is centered on purples, and that is my oldest daughter's favorite color. I didn't plan it that way, it just happened. lol

I decided to make these flowers soft by not stamping on the detailed flower on top of it like I did yesterday. I love both looks. After I stamped the flowers, I sprayed Elegant Eggplant ink with the Color Spritzer Tool (p. 203) and Elegant Eggplant marker. I really like the effect. The greeting is also part of the Field Flowers set (p. 120). I stamped it in Early Espresso. After I was done stamping, I tore around the image, and then sponged the torn edges with Elegant Eggplant. The designer paper I used is Flirtatious Specialty DSP (p. 183). The inside of the card is pictured below, too.

Field Flowers Birthday Card

Today's card is the card I made for my daughter for her 18th birthday last month. I've used this set a couple times, and it's one of my favorite new stamp sets. It's called Field Flowers (p. 120). I thought I had posted the other card, but I see that I haven't. I'll have to post the other one I've made with this set tomorrow.

As you can see, I used a special fold for this card. You still start with a 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of card stock. I just scored the card at 1-1/4" and 5-1/2" instead of the regular center fold. I punched out a ribbon strip from Lucky Limeade card stock with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch (p. 211) and attached it to the back of the left, narrow strip. This made it so the narrow flap can overlap the wider one. I then attached the left side of the flower piece to the narrow flap.

The designer paper I used is the Fall paper from the Holiday Mini called Spice Cake DSP (p. 17 in the mini). As you can see, this paper can be used on something other than a Fall project. I just love it when you can use something for other than what it was intended for. The greeting is from a hostess set called, Happiest Birthday Wishes (p. 10).

First Gently Falling Set Card

Hello, everyone! Today's card is a card I made for a Stampin' Connection swap I was in. This is one of many stamp sets I'm in love with from the Holiday Mini. It's called Gently Falling (p. 16 & 17). I was even able to get it as part of a 40% off bundle. Not only did I get it 40% off, but I also got my regular 20% off on top of that! I used one of my favorite Fall color combos...More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla. It might just be my favorite Fall combo. I stamped the outline of the leaves first using Early Espresso ink, and then stamped the bolder leaf images in the other three colors. I also used another great stamp set from the Holiday Mini, Hand-Penned Holidays (p. 15). I just love this font! It's so pretty and elegant. I stamped it in Early Espresso ink. The bottom border of the Old Olive strip was made with the Scallop Trim Border Punch (p. 211). If you look closely, you can see that I used the new item, Dazzling Details (p. 41 in the Holiday Mini) on the leaf that I cut out & put on the scallop circle. I've got a close-up of it below. Just click on picture to see a larger version of it. The camera doesn't do it justice, though. It sparkles a lot more in real life. I only put SNAIL adhesive to the center part of the leaf so the edges would naturally curl up a little bit.

My First Christmas Stamp-A-Stack of the Year

It's Friday! Not only that, but it's a 3-day weekend! Yay! I hope you all have a wonderful, long weekend!

Today's card is one of the cards that will be made at my Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stack (SAS) - Take One. Everyone that attends will make 4 of this card, and 4 each of 4 other designs. I'll be sharing the other 4 designs in the coming days. The SAS will be offered two different nights...Wednesday, September 14 and Friday, September 16. I CASEd this card from someone in a swap I was just in. Her name is Ilene Dack. I did use different shades of the colors she used, and changed the card up a little bit. Mine is also a regular card. Her card actually opens where the purple strip is. I used the stamp set, Pennant Parade (p. 69). There are so many different things you can do with this set. The "Merry Christmas" stamp came from the stamp set, Season of Joy (p. 33). The middle tree was punched out with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch (p. 213), and I popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206). I also added a large rhinestone from the Basic Rhinestones Jewels Pack (p. 198) to the top of the middle tree. The purple strip was embossed with the new Snow Burst Impressions Folder (p. 33) from the Holiday Mini.

Happy Monday, everyone! I know it's hard to believe, but August ends tomorrow! Are you wondering how I did the background? It's easy. After running the Confetti White card stock through the Big Shot (p. 215) with the Finial Press Impressions Folder (p. 219), I inked up my Brayer (p. 203) with Pool Party ink and rolled it gently across it. Make sure you don't press too hard if you try it yourself. Pressing too hard will get ink in the "valleys". You only want the ink on the raised parts.

Today is Monday, and that means there's another Mojo Monday sketch...Mojo Monday 206! It's the last Monday of the month, so there is a choice of making a circle version or square version of the sketch. As you can see, I chose the square version.

I used another stamp set that I earned free with my SAB sales. It's a cute baby set called, Little Additions (p. 83). Not only is it cute, it's also a lot of fun to play with. You can stamp a whole nursery with it if you want to! I used the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper (p.183 ) along with the colors in the paper pack. I love the brads that I used, too. They are called In Color 2011-2013 Designer Printed Brads (p. 199), and I used the Wisteria Wonder ones in the pack.

Amazing Fold Card

Hello, everyone! Isn't this a fun card? I learned how to make this card from a video tutorial that Mary Fish made. You can see her great tutorial HERE. This card is so easy to make. I plan on making a lot more of these.

The stamp set that I used is a current hostess set, Array of Sunshine (p. 10). The greeting set is also a hostess set, and it's called Happiest Birthday Wishes (p. 10). I'm so in love with the hostess items this year. I want to get them all! I love the new hostess benefits this year, too. The designer paper that I used on this card is one of my favorites. It's called Berry Blossoms (p. 185). I really like the colors in this paper. They're so pretty together. I also used my favorite new ribbon, Wisteria Wonder 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon (p. 194). I own a couple of the colors, and can't wait to get all five.

It looks like I attached the flower on the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals in the picture, but I didn't. I just put Snail Adhesive (p. 106) on the back center of the flower, and curved the edges of the flower a little bit. The leaves are stamped directly to the square piece of Whisper White card stock, so they don't need cut out.

Holiday Mini Sneak Peek - Always Thankful

I love making Fall cards. Fall colors are so beautiful! I'm also in love with this new Holiday Mini set, Always Thankful. I actually colored this image in with markers. It looks like I watercolored it because of all of the detail in the stamp. I just love that. The designer paper is also in the new Holiday Mini. It's called Spice Cake DSP. I would have never put these colors together for a Fall card, but they really work well! Stampin' Up! does a great job with the color combos they come up with for their DSP.

I made this card for a swap I'm in. I joined it on our Stampin' Up! demonstrator community, Stampin' Connection. Stampin' Up! sure gives its demonstrators a lot of creative resources to help us with our businesses. They make it so much easier for us to come up with projects for our workshops and classes. Today's card is the card that my Technique Stamp Club is going to make next week. The technique is called "Stained Glass Technique." I think the Delicate Doilies set (p. 127) is perfect for this technique. It really looks like stained glass. The designer paper I used on this one is Pocketful of Posies (p. 184). I think the colors in this paper are really pretty together. I probably would have never come up with this color combo. I also used this week's Mojo Monday sketch, MOJO204.

Scrap In A Flash! is This Month!

I haven't had a Scrap In A Flash! camp for months! I thought it was about time to offer another one. I love scrapbooking as much as card making, but it seems like I never have time to do it. Punch Art Class is Tonight & Monday

Happy Friday, everyone! I wanted to show the punch art creations that will be made at my Punch Art Class tonight and this Monday night. I still have openings for Monday night, so if you live close to Mooresville, IN and want to come, please let me know by this Saturday night. I'd love to have you! This punch art class begins @ 6:30 p.m. both nights, and the fee is $10 for the 3 punch art creations and the two cards pictured below. Everyone also makes a step by step sheet in their punch art journals on how to make the punch art so they remember how to do it if they want to make them later. If you missed the first punch art class and would also like a journal, the fee will be $21 extra ($31 total), and I'll throw in the punch art from the first class for free. The $21 dollars gets you one of the new Designer Printed 6" x 6" ring albums on p. 190 of the catty, and an extra 20 page protectors to add to the album. The album isn't required.

For those of you that live too far away, or just can't make it to either of these classes, I'm in the process of coming up with a Class on the Go for each of my Punch Art classes. I'll give you more information once I get everything worked out. Stay tuned!

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I haven't posted for a week, and have really missed it. I'm hoping to post a lot more this week. I'm starting off this week with today's MojoMonday sketch (MOJO203). Love this sketch!

I used some of my newest toys from the new SU! catalog on this one. I used one of the new hostess sets, Array of Sunshine (p. 10), and a greeting set from the Summer Mini set, Happy Greetings (p. 26). I popped the flower up by attaching it with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206). Do you see the frame behind the flower? I made it using the new Designer Frames Impressions Folder Set (p. 218). I also used the Finial Press Impressions Folder (p. 219) on the bottom of the card. I'm such a sucker for our Impressions Folders! The border along the bottom of the Wisteria Wonder layer was made with one of my very favorite punches, Lace Ribbon Border Punch (p. 210). I only let about 1/3 of it show underneath.

I also used one of the new Designer Series Paper packs, Berry Blossoms DSP (p. 185). I'm in love with this color combo! It's probably because my 3 favorite new In Colors are in it...Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, & Wisteria Wonder. I think all 3 colors look great with Early Espresso, too. The Early Espresso (brown) strip below the flowers was made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch (p. 210). The greeting is from the hostess set in the Summer Mini, Swirls & Curls Verses (p. 4).

The close-up on the right shows what I added to the flower centers a little better. I used rhinestones from the Basic Rhinestones Jewels pack (p. 198) on the 2 larger flowers, and I used one of the brads from the new 2011-2013 In Color Designer Printed Brads (p. 199) for the Early Espresso flower center. The purple flower was popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206).

My Hubby's Birthday Card

Boy has this been a crazy month! I won't go into particulars, but I'm ready for the Fulk household to get back to normal! lol I'm sorry that I haven't posted that much lately. I do have some projects made, and hopefully I can start posting more regularly soon.

Today's card is the card I made my wonderful hubby for his birthday earlier this month. I love this set, Nature Silhouettes (p. 104). I love just stamping it in black, and then adding a sunrise or moonlit night. The first step is to stamp the tree and the deer in black ink (I used Jet Black Stazon - p. 203). All I did for the sunrise was punch out a circle from a post-it note with a 3/4" Circle Punch (p. 212), making sure I punched out part of the sticky part of the note. I then stuck it onto the Whisper White card stock where I wanted the sun to be. Using Sponge Daubers (p. 203), I sponged Perfect Plum ink across the bottom, then Regal Rose, & then More Mustard ink. Then I removed the post-it circle. I really like the effect.

The rest of the card is really self-explantory. I stamped the Medallion background stamp (p. 149) onto the Old Olive card stock with Old Olive ink. The lacy Basic Black card stock strip was made with the new Lace Ribbon Border Punch (p. 211). The "Happy Birthday" stamp is from the Bring on the Cake set (p. 66), and it was stamped with the Jet Black Stazon ink pad. I then added the 3 black brads (Neutrals Brads - p. 199), and then attached the whole thing to the Basic Black card base. The deer/tree image was matted onto Basic Black card stock, and then attached the card with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206).

Christmas in July

I've seen a lot of other ladies making Christmas Cards in July, so I thought I would do one, too. The first time I saw this adorable snowman set, Snow Much Fun (p. 35), in the new catalog, I knew I just had to have it. I'm a sucker for snowmen. The color combo I used is this week's color challenge over at SCS, CC331. I also used this week's SCS card sketch, SC341. It's a little hard to tell in the picture, but I put a small rhinestone on each end of the greeting. They came from the Basic Rhinestones Jewels Pack (p. 198). The greeting piece was also popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206). The watercoloring was done with an Aqua Painter (p. 203) and Watercolor Wonder Crayons (p. 202).

I loved it so much, and I knew it would be a good one for this class. The lady who made it is a demonstrator herself, and her name is Nancy Amato. I did have to change the ribbon, but only because it has retired since she made the card. I love being a demonstrator and swapping with fellow demonstrators. I get so much inspiration from them.

The stamp set that the cards will be made with is the Breast Cancer Research Foundation set, Strength & Hope (p. 27 in the Summer Mini). My Daughter's Birthday Card

Yesterday was my oldest child's 20th birthday. I can't believe my baby is no longer a teenager. The time sure goes by fast! This is the birthday card I made her yesterday. Her favorite color is purple, so, of course, I had to put a lot of purple in it. I CASEd a card made by Connie Babbert when making this one.

I used the sneak peek stamp set, Delicate Doilies. This pretty set will be available to purchase beginning Friday, after 2:00 p.m. EST. The greeting is a level one hostess set from the Summer Mini called Swirls & Curls Verses (p. 4). I made the flower using the Island Floral Bigz Die. The flower petals were made with White Vellum card stock, and embossed with the Finial Press Impressions Folder. The leaves were made with Pear Pizzazz card stock, and embossed with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder. The Wisteria Wonder (purple) layer of the card was embossed with the Framed Tulips Impressions Folder. I think that's the most Impressions Folders I've ever used on one card! The flower center was made with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (p. 6 in the Summer Mini) and a Pretty in Pink flower brad from the Subtles Flower Brads Pack.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but I did add a strip of designer paper from the Sneak Peek paper, Flirtatious Specialty DSP. It's under the flower. The flower petal layers are also separated with Stampin' Dimensionals. I cut little strips from the scraps of the dimensionals and attached them below the flower center so they couldn't be seen. Then, I attached the flower to the card with dimensionals as well. I then attached the leaves underneath with Snail Adhesive.

Happy Monday, everyone! I finally had time to do a MojoMonday sketch! This is MOJO197. I really like making square cards. This one measures 4-1/4" x 4-1/4", so it fits in one of Stampin' Up!'s regular medium envelopes (A2 envelope).

The set I used is Strength & Hope (p. 27 in the Summer Mini). For every set sold through August 30th, Stampin' Up! will donate $2 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. So, not only do you get a beautiful stamp set, you help breast cancer research! I'll be having a With One Stamp Set Class in July, and the stamp set that will be used is this one. The class fee will include the Strength & Hope stamp set (choice of WM or CM) and 4-5 cards using the set. This card will be one of the ones being made. More information to come soon.

The designer paper I used is a new paper pack that will be in the new Idea Book & Catalog that comes out this Friday. It's called Pocketful of Posies DSP. The colors in this paper pack are really pretty together. The colors I used are just a few that are in the paper. The flower was made with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (p. 6 in the Summer Mini). The bottom two layers were made with Rich Razzleberry card stock, and I ran the top of these 2 layers with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder (p. 214). The 3rd layer was punched out of one of the sheets in the Pocketful of Posies DSP. The flower center was punched out with one of the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (p. 200), and embossed with the same Impressions Folder mentioned above. I put three of the smallest pearls from the Basic Pearls Jewels Pack (p. 188) on top. The pearl on the butterfly is one of the largest pearls in the pack. I attached the whole flower with 2 Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 197). The leaves were made with the Little Leaves Sizzlit die (p. 210).

Sneak Peek of a New Hostess Set

I hope you're all enjoying your weekend so far. It's a beautiful day here in Central Indiana! I used this week's color and card sketch challenges over at SCS (splitcoaststampers.com). The color sketch is CC328, and the card sketch is SC338. I love learning new color combos that include one of my favorite SU! colors, Cherry Cobbler, and this is a good one.

The stamp sets that I used on this card are both hostess sets. The greeting is from the Love & Care set (p. 5 in the Summer Mini) and the main stamp set is called Simply Soft. The Simply Soft set is a new hostess set in the new Idea Book & Catalog beginning July 1st. Stampin' Up! has some GORGEOUS hostess sets this year, and they've also changed the hostess benefits! The big scallop circle was made with my Big Shot (p. 204) and the Scallop Circle Bigz die (p 207). I cut the inner circle with my Circle Scissor Plus (p. 199). I set the dial at 3-3/4", and cut. I stamped the lined flower images with Night of Navy ink, the petals with Cherry Cobbler ink, and colored the stem in with a Crumb Cake marker. The "splatter" effect on the circle was done with the same Crumb Cake marker and the Color Spritzer Tool (p. 195). The texture on the Cherry Cobbler layer was made by running the card stock through my Big Shot with the Finial Press Impressions Folder (p. 214).

The bow was made with a 8-9" piece of Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon (carry-over from the Occasions Mini, & in the new catalog in July). It's called a Faux Bow, and I learned it from a VIDEO that Dawn Olchefske made. You should really check it out! It's the easiest way I've seen to make a perfect bow! The brad I used for the center is an Antique Brad (p. 187).

The Open Sea Father's Day

Happy Monday, everyone! I wanted to show all of you the card I made my dad for Father's Day yesterday. I used the stamp set, The Open Sea (p. 9), from the Summer Mini. The picture didn't turn out very well, because I had to take the picture inside. The lighting in my office isn't very good. The colors look better in real life, but I did adjust the picture some, so it's close. The designer paper that I used is also in the Summer Mini. It's called Nautical Expedition DSP (p. 8). The paper really coordinates well with this set. I also tied on some Cherry Cobbler/White Baker's Twine (p. 10) from the Summer Mini along the bottom of the blue layer. I also wanted some texture on the card base, so I embossed it with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder (p. 214).

Here are a couple tips about the card. I got the burned-edge look on the Not Quite Navy layer by tearing the card stock and then brushing the Not Quite Navy Classic ink pad across the torn edge. I really like using this effect. If you look closely, you can see that I stamped the globe from the stamp set behind the ship. I inked it up with Soft Suede Classic ink and stamped it twice on a piece of scrap paper before stamping it onto the right side of the white card stock. I then stamped the ship onto it.

Sneak Peek Stamp Set - Delicate Doilies

I finally got to play with my new toys! I've had them for almost a week, but this is the first time I could actually make something with them. It's been driving me crazy! lol I did use a sketch challenge on this card. It's a new one I haven't done before at the Clean & Simple Stamping blog. It's FTL144, and you can find it HERE.

This set is called Delicate Doilies. The images in this set are so dainty and pretty. I really like it. I can't wait to use the set on a scrapbook page! The other stamp set, Swirls & Curls Verses, is the level one hostess set in the current Summer Mini. The other new item I used is the border on the right side of the card. It's a punch called Lace Ribbon Border Punch. It actually punches out a beautiful lacy wide strip. I've only got about a third of it showing.

How do you like the colors? Aren't they gorgeous?! The colors are three of the five new 2011-2013 In Colors. I'm in LOVE! The purple color is Wisteria Wonder, coral color is Calypso Coral, and green color is Lucky Limeade. I'll be using this color combo a lot!

Last Two Cards for My Fond Farewell Camp

For those of you that get my newsletter, I'm sorry that I didn't get one of these posted yesterday like I said I would. One of my daughters and I were food poisoned! I made taco salad Monday night, and we had 2 bottles of taco sauce. Steph and I were the only ones that had taco sauce from one of the bottles, so I'm sure it must have been bad. Ken and our other 2 kids never had a problem. We were both so sick that we felt like we were dying. We knew we weren't...just felt like it. We even got pretty high temperatures with body aches. No fun at all! Steph is completely better, and I pretty much am. I'm just a little tired, but that's it. So, I'm posting both cards to make up for not posting yesterday.

My Mom's Mother's Day Card

I just realized that I never posted the card that I made my mom for Mother's Day. I used one of my favorite stamp sets from the Summer Mini on her card...Flower Fest (p. 20). I love the texture that these flowers have. They are pretty colored in and not colored in as shown with this card.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but the butterfly was heat embossed with the new Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi emboss powders from the Summer Mini (p. 23). The heat embossing really makes the butterfly pop. I did have to cut the butterfly body out by hand, but the butterfly wings were punched out with the Butterfly Punch (p. 202). After I embossed it, I colored it in with Daffodil ink using a Sponge Dauber (p. 195).

The border on the bottom of the Melon Mambo piece was made with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (p. 6 in the Summer Mini). I only let half of the flowers show, and then added the rhinestones from the Basic Rhinestone Jewels Pack (p. 188) to each one. I'll be using this punch to make borders a lot!

Love & Care Card

Before I get to the card, I want to let those of you that have been in the path of these horrible tornadoes know that you are all in my prayers. I pray that God will give you strength to get through the hardships you're going through, and that you'll feel his arms wrapped around you.

Now, to today's card. I used two different challenges going on this week for this card. I used the color challenge at SCS, CC324, and the card sketch at Mojo Monday, MOJO192. I REALLY like this color combo! The colors are so pretty together. I really like this sketch as well. I think the added scalloped circle and tag really make the card look special.

I used the Rock & Roll technique on the larger flowers, and used markers on the smaller ones. There was no green in the color combo, but I think Soft Suede works for the stems just fine. The stamp set that I used is a new Level 2 hostess set in the Summer Mini called Love & Care (p. 5). I earned it free for signing up a new demonstrator during SAB. I love being a demo! It's such a beautiful set. I usually sell my hostess sets after they retire, but I plan on keeping this one. I just can't give it up! I wrapped a 2" piece of Victoria Crochet Trim (p. 190) around the small tag, and then attached it to the larger Baja Breeze one. I then added the Perfect Plum flower brad from the Subtles Flower Brad Pack (p. 187). The tag is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 197). As you can see, I added some texture to the card by dry embossing the plum layer with the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder (p. 214). I love how this folder makes cards look so elegant!

My Hubby's Anniversary Card

My husband and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary a couple weeks ago, and this is the card that I made him. He really liked it a lot. I have to admit, I'm happy with the way it turned out, too.

There are so many wonderful masculine sets in the new Summer Mini, and this is one of them. It's actually just one stamp, and it's called Sail Away (p. 11 in the Summer Mini). I also used the designer paper that coordinates so well with it. It's called Nautical Expedition (p. 8 in the Summer Mini). These products sure make it easier to create masculine projects. I LOVE them!

One more item from the mini that I used is the Cherry Cobbler/White Baker's Twine (p. 10 in the Summer Mini). I wrapped it a couple times around the middle strip that I made, and then tied it into a double knot. I then held the loose ends together and tied three slip knots to keep them together. I thought that it gave the twine a nautical look.

If you look closely, you can see that the sails have a little white on them. I colored them in with a Blender Pen (p. 195) and Whisper White Craft ink. After cleaning the ink off the Blender Pen, I brushed it over the rest of the sails to smudge the Not Quite Navy lines of the image. This helped darken the sails up a little bit.

I just love the On the Grow set (p. 14 in the Summer Mini). You can get very different looking projects made with the two main images in the set. I used an old Mojo Monday sketch with this one, too. You can see the sketch HERE. This sketch enables you to use two different ribbons if you like. I used the new Cherry Cobbler/White Baker's Twine (p. 10 in the Summer Mini) on the top, and Pear Pizzazz 1/2" Stitched-Poly Ribbon (p. 190) on the bottom. The Tangerine Tango border across the middle was made with the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (p. 6 in the Summer Mini). I also popped up the greeting and the flower image with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 197)

My First Touch of Kindness Card

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I'm so sorry that I haven't posted for awhile. I've got projects to show you, but I just haven't had time to post. Today's card is a card that I made for a swap I was in. I joined the swap group through our Stampin' Up! demonstrator community, Stampin' Connection. Stampin' Up! gives demonstrators so many ways to get project ideas! It's great!

The stamp set is a new one from the Summer Mini called, Touch of Kindness (p. 25). I love the little birds in the bird bath. They're so cute. I got the color combo from new designer series paper (DSP) in the Summer Mini, Beyond the Garden (p 23). I get a lot of my color combos from Stampin' Up!'s wonderful DSP! The scallop square around the main image was made with the Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die (p. 24 in the Summer Mini). I used the largest square on the die. It's a really nice size for a card.

I stamped the sunflower images across the Melon Mambo bottom of the card with Melon Mambo ink. I stamped the middle one first, and then the two on each side. I also stamped another sunflower onto Tangerine Tango card stock with Tangerine Tango ink and punched it out with the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch (p. 200). I stamped a greeting from the same stamp set onto Daffodil Delight card stock with Melon Mambo ink, punched it out with a 1-1/4" Circle Punch (p. 202), and attached it to the orange sunflower. I then attached it to the middle sunflower on the card with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 197).
