Greenhouse Garden Card

Hello, everyone! I'm sorry about not posting for the last few days. It'll probably be like this for about another month or so. The countdown to the big move is getting close to the home stretch. We close on our new house 3 weeks from tomorrow! We have packed a lot already, but we have a lot more to do. I'm going to try to get some stamping done in the next few days so I have projects to post every few days during the next month. After I do, I'll have to pack up all of my stamping stuff. I hope I can survive not stamping for a little while!

Today's card was made at Brandy's workshop last Friday. She hosted one of my hands-on workshops where everyone makes 3 projects for $5. They get the projects free if they place at least a $35 order. The projects can either be all cards, all scrapbook pages (size is hostesses choice), or a combination of the two. Brandy chose to have 2 cards and one 6" x 6" scrapbook page. The vast majority of the ladies qualified for the free projects, so Brandy earned a lot of free stuff! If you would like to see the 6" x 6" page they made, CLICK HERE. As you can see, the card is a very simple one. If you look closely, you can see that the Lovely Lilac strip is embossed. I try to keep the projects simple at my in-home workshops so ladies new to stamping don't feel overwhelmed. The stamp camps and classes at my house are where I have projects that are a little more involved.

July's Technique Club Project

This was the project that my Technique Club members made this month. Normally, they have a card or scrapbook page to pick from, but this month they all made a card. The technique they learned today was the Chalkboard technique. You stamp bold images with Whisper White Craft ink on dark card stock, and then color over the ink with Stampin' Pastels. Another great use for those pastels!

I Finally Got to Scrapbook!

Yes, my fellow scrapper's, I finally have a scrapbook layout to show you! It has been way too long since I've been able to post a scrapbook layout! I hope you like it!

I finally got to scrapbook the other day! This moving thing has definitely cut into my stamping time, but it'll be worth it when I get my wonderful stamping room! Can you tell I'm excited?!

I made these pages for a scrapbook I've been working on for my husband, Ken. I hate to say it, but I've been working on it for over a year and a half! As my good friends and scrapbooking buddies at church know, I've been working on this to surprise Ken. With it being a surprise, I've only been able to work on it at the over-nighters and 2-day Stampin' & Scrappin' retreats that my church has. Well, I finally decided to give him the scrapbook this past Father's Day. I had all of his immediate family pictures done, so I thought it was a good time to give it to him. His father past away back in 1985, and I'm glad I decided to give it to him on Father's Day. He really enjoyed seeing pictures of his dad on Father's Day. The pictures I'm working on now are his dad's side of the family. Next will be his mom's side, and then I'll be done. It'll still take me awhile, because there are still a lot of pictures! I love old pictures, so I'm really enjoying it!

Two Cards - Same Set/Same Layout...Two Different Looks

I made these cards a couple months apart. As you can see, the layout is pretty much the same with both of them, but the looks are so different! The main set used for both of these cards is Thoughts & Prayers on page 52 (#113252 - set of 8 - $25.95). This set came out in the last catalog, and it's still one of my favorites.

As you can see, this set makes feminine cards and masculine cards as well. I made the top card for a dear friend of mine who lost her grandmother a couple months ago, and I made the bottom one for my husband for his birthday earlier this month.

My First Big Shot Pop-Up Card!

I finally got to play with my Big Shot Pop-Up Three Tier Cake Bigz XL die (#116760 - p. 201)! I've had it since last winter, and I just now got to use it. We put our house up for sale right after I purchased, and I just haven't had time to use it.

It was so much fun to use! It not only looks great when you're finished, it's very easy to make. It makes a great wedding cake, too. I've even seen others use it to make a castle. There's a lot you can do with it. Right now, Stampin' Up! is one of the very few places you can purchase it.

I also used my brand new set, On a Pedestal (#113814 - p. 71). I don't know if you can tell, but I put Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on the frosting part of the cake. It's nice and glittery in real life. My Oldest's 18th Birthday Card

Our oldest child, Whitney, turned 18 years old last Sunday! I can't believe she's legally an adult! It seems like yesterday I was holding her in my arms. It has been fun watching her grow up, and we're very proud of her!
